1 Men aren’t irresistible and not all women are desperate for sex. Good lovemaking starts long before you reach the bedroom, so before any date, have a bath. Everyone smells: some women like the smell of male sweat, others don’t, but no one likes the smell of stale sweat.

4 Be careful with drink. We all know drinking increases a man’s desire but decreases his ability, but not everyone realises it also affects a woman’s sexual response. More than two or three drinks and some women may be loving but physiologically limited.

1 There’s no substitute for excitement. The range of lubricants on the market can add slip and slide, but should never be used as a short cut.

One of the officers took john and I to the bathroom to get something to soak up the blood. As I stepped into the toilet area the guy I had glassed lunged for me pushing the cop out of the way. He was screaming “your dead mother fucker, your fucking dead meat” he was restrained quickly. I made the naive assumption that justice prevails, I remember saying. “I will give a statement “ to which I got the response from the police. “Look, we no who that are they wouldn’t turn up for court even if we did arrest them,” as he ushered john and I to the ambulance. The system sucks.

Sitting in the white room, a buzz of student doctors. Wounds from a bar fight they seemed excited, so much so you would think they had orchestrated the whole affair. A pretty nurse was cleaning my wounds. John was in the next stall. Stitches in my head and back once the students had poked around we waited for the doctor to do the stitches. Sitting alone contemplating the last hour, bright white, dizzinging lights and the distinct hospital smell. The pain and stiffness settling in as the adrenaline made its escape. The doctor finished the stitches to my back and head and said he would be back, sitting alone the shock had set in, a horrible moment, which was just about to get worse. Flooded with adrenaline once more we headed for the door. The hospital gardens then a road, a taxi, “take us to Leith”. What the fuck was going on what planet had I been on tonight. This was a new world to me and I did not like it. We sat in john’s kitchen, safe unable to sleep. Was this over? No, we had to leave the city.


A local gang as we found out later, in the pub to extort and ply their trade. I had unknowingly mutilated the face of their leader. His partners had surrounded us in a flash, no whistle, no gloves no calling of time. Seven well in fairness six now. John had regained full control only to realise we were going to have to fight for our lives. The battle that ensued was by far the scariest moments of my life. We had stumbled on a world that we did not understand, but with that said that world did not understand us. We don’t live in their world so we can’t follow their rules.

Lust is any intense desire or craving for gratification and excitement. Lust can mean strictly sexual lust, although it is also common to speak of a "lust for men", "lust for blood" (bloodlust), or a "lust for power" (or other goals), and to "lust for love". The Greek word which translates as lust is epithymia (επιθυμια), which also is translated into English as "to covet". The word 'lust' originally had no negative connotation, but it has developed a connotation of sexual sin.

Desire

desire is identified as a philosophical problem in The Republic, a dialogue by Plato. Plato observes that people in the city should follow its leaders rather their their own interests and that therefore they must exhibit moderation. Personal desires must be postponed in the name of the higher ideal.



In Aristotle's De Anima the soul is seen to be involved in motion. Animals desire things and in their desire acquire locomotion. Thus, desire is implicated in animal interactions and the propensity of animals to motion. But Aristotle acknowledges that desire cannot account for all purposive movement towards a goal. He brackets the problem by positing that perhaps reason, in conjunction with desire and by way of the imagination, makes it possible for one to apprehend an object of desire, to see it as desirable. In this way reason and desire work together to determine what is a 'good' object of desire. This resonates with desire in the chariots of Plato's Phaedrus, for in the Phaedrus the soul is guided by two horses, a dark horse of passion and a white horse of reason. Here passion and reason, as in Aristotle, are also together. Socrates does not suggest the dark horse be done away with, since its passions make possible a movement towards the objects of desire, but he qualifies desire and places it in a relation to reason so that the object of desire can be discerned correctly, so that we may have the right desire.

In Passions of the Soul Descartes writes of the passion of desire as an agitation of the soul that projects desire, for what it represents as agreeable, into the future. Desire in Kant can represent things that are absent and not only objects at hand. Desire is also the preservation of objects already present, as well as the desire that certain effects not appear, that what affects one adversely be curtailed and prevented in the future. Moral and temporal values attach to desire in that objects which enhance one's future are considered more desirable than those that do not, and it introduces the possibility, or even necessity, of postponing desire in anticipation of some future event, anticipating Freud's text Beyond The Pleasure Principle. In A Treatise on Human Nature Hume suggests that reason is subject to passion. Motion is put into effect by desire, passions, and inclinations. It is desire, along with belief, that motivates action.

Kant establishes a relation between the beautiful and pleasure in Critique of Judgment. He says "I can say of every representation that it is at least possible (as a cognition) it should be bound up with a pleasure. Of representation that I call pleasant I say that it actually excites pleasure in me. But the beautiful we think as having a necessary reference to satisfaction." Desire is found in the representation of the object.

Hegel begins his exposition of desire in Phenomenology of Spirit with the assertion that "self-consciousness is desire." It is in the restless movement of the negative that desire removes the antithesis between itself and its object, "...and the object of immediate desire is a living thing...", and object that forever remains an independent existence, something other. Hegel's inflection of desire via stoicism becomes important in understanding desire as it appears in de Sade. Stoicism in this view has a negative attitude towards "...otherness, to desire, and work." Reading Blanchot in this regard, in his essay Sade's Reason, the libertine is one, of a type that sometimes intersects with a Sadean man, who finds in stoicism, solitude, and apathy the proper conditions. Blanchot writes, "...the libertine is thoughtful, self-contained, incapable of being moved by just anything." Apathy in de Sade is opposition not to desire but to its spontaneity. Blanchot writes that in Sade, "for passion to become energy, it is necessary that it be constricted, that it be mediated by passing through a necessary moment of insensibility, then it will be the greatest passion possible." Here is stoicism, as a form of discipline, through which the passions pass. Blanchot says, "Apathy is the spirit of negation, applied to the man who has chosen to be sovereign." Dispersed, uncontrolled passion does not augment one's creative force but diminishes it.

Within the teachings of Siddhartha Gautama (Buddhism), desire is known to be the cause of all suffering, pain, and emptiness that one experiences in human existence. The extinction of this desire leads one to ultimate happiness, or Nirvana.

Human nature

Human nature is the concept that there are a set of logical characteristics, including ways of thinking, feeling and acting, that all normal human beings have in common



A long standing question in philosophy and science is whether there exists an invariant human nature. For those who believe there is a human nature, further questions include:

* What determines/constrains human nature?
* To what extent is human nature malleable?
* How does it vary between people and populations?

Since human behavior is so diverse, it can be difficult to find absolutely invariant human behaviors that are of interest to philosophers. A lesser (but still scientifically valid) standard for evidence pertaining to "human nature" is used by scientists who study behavior. Biologists look for evidence of genetic predisposition to behavioral patterns. Genetic predispositions can be influenced by the environment, so penetrance of genetically predisposed behavioral traits is not expected to reach 100 percent. A type of human behavior for which there is a strong genetic predisposition can be considered to be part of human nature. In other words, human nature is not seen as something that forces individuals to behave in a certain way, but as something that makes individuals more inclined to act in a certain way than in another. Psychologically, the term "human nature" can be related to Freud's concept of the id and the desires associated with such an aspect of personality.

Can you change?

Can you change the way you are? Is it possible to change your being at the fundamental level. Do you want to change, really want to, that must be the first step. Can we change the feelings that give us kicks that give us a buzz. Such a popular saying ' i dont no why i did it' could it be because that is what you do! Can we overcome our basic desires what ever they might be. Will a liar always lie or always want to, have you changed if you have to stop yourself, or are you merely trying to conform. Should you have to?, is it possible. Why do we make promises that we cant keep, why to we place a vail of smoke around our true nature. We are what we are, we do what we do we can lie to evryone else but we know the truth. Delay is the greatest factor in the lie to ourselves. We can delay the result yet our true colours will always shine, as clear as the sun in a cloudless sky. Change can take many forms and convince many minds yet you are what you are and nothing will change that. I will test this over the coming years yet i feel and think it is conclusion that is written for us.

Vietnamese organised crime is behind a sudden explosion of cannabis cultivation in Scotland in the past year, with more than 40 factories producing £5 million of the drug in the past nine months.
Graeme Pearson, head of the Scottish Crime and Drug Enforcement Agency (SCDEA), will today tell a drugs conference that cannabis cultivation in Scotland has gone from a “homespun cottage industry” to mass production lines overseen by Far Eastern “Mr Bigs”.
A network of Vietnamese gangs, responsible for mass cannabis production in North America and the south of England, is understood to have recruited members of the Chinese community in Scotland to set up dozens of factories across the country in recent months.
A big rise in cannabis cultivation in parts of England has already been witnessed in recent months, with the proceeds reinvested in other aspects of organised crime, including heroin, cocaine and firearms. Last week police disclosed the results of Operation League, a major cannabis-production crackdown, mainly in the west of Scotland, which has seen about 20 factories shut down. Police made several arrests during the operation, including Vietnamese and Chinese nationals, along with Scots, Full Crime….
